Pheromone Traps

Quality trapping devices to use with pheromone lures

Our TRAP is designed based on insect behavior

How Do Pheromone Traps Work?

Pheromones are chemical substances that insects emit and receive to communicate with each other. Pheromone lures are designed to mimic naturally emitted sex pheromones, which attract male adult insects. When used with recommended pheromone traps, the target insects are attracted to the trap and then captured or restrained.

Pheromones are highly species-specific, meaning they only attract specific target insects. Because this method is based on a natural biological mechanism, insects do not develop resistance to pheromones.

Early Detection, Monitoring & Mass Trapping

The pheromone lures and traps we produce are essential components of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs. Pherobio’s pheromone lures are environmentally friendly, long-lasting, and species-specific, ensuring that only the intended pest species are attracted and captured.

We offer a wide range of traps that are optimized for maximum attraction and effective capture. Pheromone lures and traps are widely used for early detection of pests and for monitoring pest population levels. This enables growers and pest control professionals to apply IPM strategies in an informed and efficient manner.

In some cases, pheromone lures and traps can also be used to suppress pest populations. For example, female sex pheromones can be used to trap male insects, reducing their ability to reproduce and ultimately lowering population levels.

Use pheromone traps with pheromone lures to attract and catch target damaging insects, for monitoring pest presence and determine pest population.Traps are designed in different types to adapt various insect behaviors.
