How Do Pheromone Traps Work?

Pheromone lures are designed to mimic naturally emitted sex pheromones, which attract male adult insects. When used with recommended pheromone traps, the target insects are attracted to the trap and then captured or restrained.
Pheromones are highly species-specific, meaning they only attract specific target insects. Because this method is based on a natural biological mechanism, insects do not develop resistance to pheromones.
